For The Tiny Minotaur's second unofficial sxsw show, we're heading back down to the catacombs for a night of dark dungeon music courtesy of Brooklyn's Scythe and Apoxupon of ATX.
Scythe creates immersive, wide-screen soundscapes that encompass dark ambient, fantasy synth, new age, and minimal electronic styles within their expansive aural worlds. Seamlessly flowing from descents into damp, unlit crypts, to openings upon glittering, gorgeous fantasy vistas, to DIM-like cathedral ruminations of choral beauty, Scythe's music is like a romantic landscape being painted in real-time.
Apoxupon will be playing in support of the issuing of a run of DIY tapes and CDs of their latest album, Mana, releasing through Engraven Records. Playing selections from that album of subtly shifting fantasy synth as well as dungeon synth and dark ambient cuts from the back-catalog.
